Fairchild VI Podcast: Episode 01

This episode covers some slightly older material, but material worth keeping around to discuss.

First on the table the group discusses Rockstar’s sandbox western Red Dead Redemption, Dead Space 2 and what made the initial entry a fresh breath of air in the vacuum of deep space, and go over some of the things that people just can’t stop talking about from this year’s Video Game Awards.

We make our opinions known concerning the huge spike in sales despite EEDAR making proclamations of the Wii ‘winning the console war’ (and why that proclamation wasn’t such an intelligent statement on their part),  and why Apple being a possible contender in 2012 for video gaming is probably not going to happen the way many might think.

We cover two user blogs this episode:

TGMMaking Motion Controls Not Suck

TGM makes interesting points on how the Wii could have been a much better system, honing on its initial main selling point – the motion controls.

BlackHeartedWolf - Why Gaming Will Never Be Taken Seriously

BHW observes the rift in the gaming sub-culture between ‘casual’ and ‘hardcore’ gamers and how their behaviors serve to destroy the ‘scene’.

We finally wrap up with our impressions on the demos for Bayonetta and Dante’s Inferno.
