Limbo, a new title on Xbox Live Arcade, is a game of the year contender that shows the terrible power of simplicity and silence. -
Review: Transformers War For Cybertron
Should players eager to watch another Transformers story forgo Transformers: War For Cybertron? No, it has entertainment value in the telling of a story. Should they expect to have fun? Yes, but it's a forgettable experience that will be easily outmatched by any number of titles of marginally "above average" caliber later in the year also. -
Review: ModNation Racers
Few kart racers stand up to the fun and pace of ModNation Racers (MNR), Mario Kart included. From the fact paced kart racing along an increasingly difficult set of opponents and track styles, the small but interesting weapons, to the seemingly endless set of props and parts for creating characters, karts, and tracks. MNR does a good job of training players to use the tools properly and showing good examples of who they're used via the single player "career mode". In it players are exposed to various track building concepts and pushed to switch racing tactics to adjust for new props and traps. -
Natal, a little overpriced for my wallet?
Would you be willing to pay $150 for a video camera peripheral that will only work with a $200 to $300 gaming console? Microsoft hopes so–at least according to Edge Online’s “trusted source,” who says that $150 is in fact the price tag for a Project Natal unit, and that Microsoft is planning for offer [...] -

Review: 3D Dot Game Heroes
While it isn't a title that is going to top anyone's 'must buy' list, it is definitely a game that has strong appeal for the gamer who wants something somewhat casual and reminiscent of days gone by and still face a challenge. What makes it more appealing is that while it is a full retail disk, it's not full retail price - there are no micro-transaction gimmicks, no extra content to 'complete' the game, and no contrived set-ups to lure players into getting content that goes stale and stagnant in a weeks time. Coming in at $39.99 upon release the title will appeal to the more frugal gamer, particularly those who were wooed by the $45 PSN price of Record of Agarest War. 3DDGH doesn't quite have the extensive gameplay and content contained as RoAW, but being able to own the physical media (something of a treat judging by the darkened industry horizon) for $5 less isn't anything to really complain about. That said, the game isn't going to appeal to everyone. Actually, it won't appeal to even a broad audience but those it will appeal to will absolutely love it if for nothing more than the fact it exists. -
Review: Record of Agarest War
Having been in Japan and Europe for well over a year and Aksys Games brings it stateside this week. I'm talking about Record of Agarest War (RoAW), the TRPG that has the dating sim side of the game advertised more than the actual TRPG side. -
Mega Man 10: Review
One of the most common themes in discussions and arguments among gaming critics is the idea of endless industry progression. Games are supposed to become more and more beautiful as time goes on. Accompanying soundtracks are supposed to become increasingly epic. Storytelling should become more seamless and enthralling. Ingenious methods of gameplay are expected to [...] -
Review: God of War III
There’s a lot to be said about God of War, some of it good and some of it bad. The game is nonetheless a hit that now spans 2 generations of the Sony console. Starting just 5 years ago, players were introduced to Kratos, the Spartan warrior who would challenge the Gods. At first, Kratos [...] -
Review: Final Fantasy XIII
Final Fantasy XIII struck me as a bountiful mix of X, X-2, VII, XII with story style impact undertones of VI and turned out much better than over critical fanatic internet naysayers tried to get people to believe. From start to finish the overall feeling of Final Fantasy was an upward slope. It started out on the precipice of disappointment, and upon taking that flight players hit a proverbial thermal across the chasm of uncertainty with it. The game itself offers the best of both old and new styles of the franchise presented with everything people came to love, and… a couple of things people didn’t in a way that they now might love.
